One of the main characters in Resident Evil: Dark Side Chronicles. Her beauty is stunning but she is infected with the T-Veronica Virus. She was born in 1986 and earlier in her life, her mother, Hilda Hidalgo was infected with the T-Virus but her father kept it a secret and told her that her mother was dead when she was 5 years old. 10 years have passed, she developed the same illness that her mother had and the same reason why his father had injected her with the T-virus. His Father's (Javier Hidalgo) business was unknown to them but he was dealing with the umbrella corporation in order to save his wife and child from the degenerating disease that had struck them. His Father bought the T-Veronica virus from Albert Wesker and injected it to Manuela but to prevent Manuela from transforming they had to replace her organs so her father and his Sacred Snake Crime Syndicate kidnaps women at her age then transplants them on Manuela.
You can notice that there is a bandage in her right arm, that is the part where the mutation is visible. She feared it and was anxious so she went to her doctor and was told that there is a virus inside her that is keeping her alive but if not maintained, it may lead to disaster. When she heard this from the doctor she fled away from their house and escaped through the Javier Dam that leads to a village nearby. Javier was furious knowing that her precious daughter left and he let the dam flood the village and releasing the T-virus infecting the whole village. Manuela's mother was also there but in the form of a water monster because of the tentacles.
In the operation by the US agents, Leon Kennedy and Jack Krauser have a warrant of arrest for the crimes and deals on the black market. Upon entering the village, there were already dead bodies including their guide. They found Manuela on a church nearby singing because the monster or her transformed mother regains a slight control when she hears Manuela sing thereby stops attacking. When Leon and Jack defeated the monster, they asked for help of Manuela in search for Javier. Manuela was convinced in helping them, and then they head to the Javier dam where Manuela had escaped through. In the Dam, there were already infected villagers guarding the place. Manuela got separated from Leon and Jack but they managed to find her again when Manuela had escaped again from his father. Leon has a hunch that Manuela was infected with the T-veronica Virus but she resist in answering Leons' question.
In the Mansion, Manuela have discovered her father’s work as the head of a criminal organization and kidnaps girls of her age for her transplants that is keeping her alive. She was shocked with the truth and was depressed greatly wanting to die as she was still a human. But Leon saved her and protecting her from the monster and showed her that she must live then the power of the T-veronica Virus had awakened from Manuela's body. But when they have killed the monster, Manuela had discovered that it was her late mother. Upon on their escape from the mansion, Javier appeared and he let himself be infected with the T-veronica Virus too and Manuela helped by using her ability that lets her blood to become fire taking down Javier. Leon and Jack finished Javier before it completely lost his mind and died. They have finally gone to the helicopter and Manuela was taken custody of the US government for study.
Manuela was the only one to retain the virus and control it but her condition did not change that she still need transplants to keep her alive.
