Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House (RMAH) Fees

Over the past few months, I have been playing Diablo 3. The most awaited game from its predecessors Diablo 1 and 2 as well as the Lord of Destruction expansion set. The day from release, many have bought the Diablo 3 but there has many bugs and a lot of errors occurred. Occasionally there had several unannounced server maintenance and error 3005 when you are trying to log in. In my opinion, the game is released early and there was not enough time beta tested it that is why there were a lot of problems and a lot of angry costumers / players and many suggested that the beta was more playable than the released game.  There are many updates and changes were done these past few weeks mainly because of the bugs and a lot of third party programs that was circulating around the internet that are called "bots".

The Real Money Auction House  or  RMAH in short was released late and being postponed 2 times before its release. There were still bugs that they have reported upon using the RMAH but at least now it is ok and running well. I linked my paypal account to battle.net and was approved, I was able sell items. In the Real Money Auction House, $1 is the charge fee for each successful transfer and %15 transfer fee to your paypal account. I thought that no body would buy my items since once you are at level 60 you could hunt items and upgrade them but to my surprise the items I have auctioned was sold however, it is not always so you have to choose and search for the best item that you can offer and know the right price for that item. Compare the items on both gold and real money to determine its price if it is worth it or not and if it is on the first page when somebody tries to search for that specific item or stats that it gives. Then you will have a chance of selling that item on the real money auction house. Some people sell items as high as $250 an luckily they sold it  because it is a high end equipment and or legendary item.

This is a great feature and a good way to prevent from players from being scammed. I have been a gamer for a while and tried to sell currencies on game and being scammed many times. I hope that other games would do this as well in the future so there would be no scamming. In the coming updates, commodities and gold can be sold on the auction house and I am waiting for that and see if I can sell gold for real money.

*Update as of July 2012. We can sell gold for 1 million gold = $2.50 minus the %15 transaction fee and %15 transfer fee. That would leave us $1.82 if successfully transferred to paypal account.

Blizzard has been figuring out to entice more players and not just being an end game where people get bored of hunting rare items and grinding monsters. It just keeps on cycling where to the point that you need to buy newer equipment so you could just finish the inferno level. It could give you an edge however, it seems pointless if you have already done that and you have all the high end gears. Blizzard plans to have updates which will include patch 1.0.4 which they could include a Player Vs Player match and I think it will encourage players to still play the game.
